I was in the landscape architecture cohort with Jackson for all four years at UO. Since the beginning, Jackson always went out of his way to include, encourage, and inspire me. Over the years we spent hundreds of hours working in the same classrooms trying to manage impossible work loads, but also getting to know each other better. I’ll never forget the late days in studio and staying up till nearly 4 am on some occasions. I knew I could always turn my stool around, ask him a question, and receive thoughtful input. His work was always highly focused on community and immersive educational experiences, which I think says a lot about his character. I’m grateful to have known Jackson and learned so much from him. What an amazing person he was to everyone.
