This site exists so the people who knew Jackson can share what they remember. This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to anything you post or send.
The short version: what you put on the Memory Wall is public. What you send through the Message the Family form goes only to his family. There is no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, and nothing here is ever sold or handed to anyone else.
What is public
When you share a memory, these appear on the site where anyone can read them:
- Your name
- How you knew Jackson, if you choose to fill it in
- What you wrote
- Any photos or video you attached
Memories publish straight away, without anyone approving them first. Please share only what you are comfortable having read by anyone who visits.
What stays private
- Your email address. The memory form asks for it but never shows it. The family may use it to reply, or to ask about a photo you sent. That is all.
- Private messages. Anything sent through the Message the Family form is emailed to the family and kept in this site’s database, so a note is not lost if an email fails to arrive. It is never published.
Comments on memories
You can add a note to someone else’s memory. A name and email address are required; the name is shown, the email is not.
If you tick “save my name, email, and website,” your browser stores that in a cookie so you do not have to type it again. WordPress also records the IP address a comment was sent from, which only the family can see.
Photos and video
Files you share are stored on this site’s own server rather than on YouTube, Facebook, or any other outside service. Once shared, a photo can be reached directly by its web address, the same as any picture on any public page.
One thing worth knowing: photos taken on a phone often carry hidden details inside the file, sometimes including the place they were taken. If that matters to you for a particular picture, it is worth checking before you send it.
The site sends email in two situations: to let the family know a new memory has been posted, and to pass along a private message. To make sure those arrive reliably, they travel through an outside email delivery service, which handles the message and nothing more. There is no mailing list, and nobody is added to one.
Cookies and tracking
There is no analytics software on this site. No advertising, no social media pixels, no visitor tracking of any kind. Nobody is building a profile of you here.
The only cookies are the optional comment cookie described above, and a sign-in cookie for the family when they log in to look after the site.
Keeping out spam
So that automated junk cannot flood the wall, the site briefly notes the network address of recent submissions and discards it after a few minutes.
Keeping things, and taking them down
What is shared here stays for as long as the site is online. The family also keeps their own copy of everything, so these memories are not lost if the site is ever taken down.
If you want something you shared changed or removed — a photo, a few words, a whole memory — ask through the Message the Family form and the family will take care of it. You do not need to give a reason.
If this page changes
If anything described here changes, this page will be updated to match. It was last reviewed in August 2026.
